TACTO Editora was founded in Chile in 2023 by photographer Catalina Juger, as a space dedicated to the publication of photobooks and contemporary visual projects that understand creation as a profoundly human act.

The name TACTO emerges from the need to shift the idea that books and photography are consumed solely through sight. Instead, it places materiality, contact, and the physical experience of the book as a living object at its center. In a context marked by the accelerated circulation of images and the development of artificial intelligence, the act of touching a book becomes a form of presence and a subtle form of resistance.

TACTO conceives the photobook as a territory where image, text, and materiality enter into dialogue, shaping experiences that go beyond the individual image. Each publication is understood as an extension of a process of thought, where memory, affect, and intuition take form.

From the Global South, TACTO Editora develops projects that explore memory, identity, territory, and the multiple ways in which we inhabit the world, understanding publishing as an act of care and attentiveness toward each work.
